Here’s a great collection of moody photos from a recent photoshoot for you!
Earlier this year Becky from Mrs J Flowers got in touch to see if I wanted to work with her again on a new photoshoot. Becky was the florist for the last shoot we were part of, more on that here. I had so much fun last time that of course I said yes.
Photoshoots are great fun for me, because it’s a chance to play and create something unique. The theme for this shoot was definitely a challenge though. The idea was to put together a Peaky Blinders inspired wedding. Challenge number one was to binge watch every episode so that I knew what it was all about! (Okay, that bit wasn’t so difficult.) Now if you’ve watched Peaky Blinders then you might see how creating your typical romantic wedding could prove a challenge. I knew that I wanted to go themed with the cake, but I still felt that it needed to have the elegance of a traditional wedding cake. So, here’s what I came up with – a moody three-tiered cake playing with cold colours and textures, I brought in details to nod toward the Peaky Blinders style, the tweed effect bottom tier with suit jacket buttons, his and hers chain and pearls and to bring it all together, a beautiful burgundy and deep purple sugar dahlia.
In the planning of the shoot there was a little hiccough, the model groom was no longer able to make it. As I was sat in the pub the evening that we found out, I stepped up and graciously volunteered … My friend Jake.
So, the day of the shoot came around and myself, Alex (who works in the shop) and Jake made our way to The Silk Mill in Frome to join all the other amazing suppliers in making our unique Peaky Blinders-esque wedding.
A huge thank you to everyone who took part, make sure you check them out!
