We’ve made a name for ourselves in the Bath and Bradford-on-Avon area as one of the ‘go-to’ cake makers for complex and one of a kind cakes. Our cake sculptures cover a range of prices, from small characters for birthday parties to showstopping statement cakes for those with larger budget events.
The more challenging the better, as far as we are concerned. We thrive on making the seemingly impossible possible, producing sensational cake sculptures like the stone gargoyle and beautiful unicorn that won us silver awards at Cake International, the eye-catching Octopus that won best in category at Cake International, the antique Singer sewing machine illusion cake that thrilled a seamstress on her 60th birthday, or the half-life-sized model of Roald Dahl’s “Miss Trunchbull” that we recently sculpted for a regular customer.

Our specialist sculpted cakes are generally ordered as a centrepiece for extravagant, lavish or sumptuous events, where they receive all the attention and admiration they deserve.
If you are looking to make a statement at your occasion or celebration, then our showstopper sculpted cakes are the perfect way to give your guests something to talk about! There’s no limit to what we can create, other than maybe the size of the room (and the size of your budget!). We put all our time, skill and artistry into baking, sculpting and decorating the perfect cake.
We’ve even made mechanical cakes, like a working remote-control car, and a speaker stack that played a dubstep remix of the wedding march as it was cut. The tougher the challenge, the more we enjoy meeting it – like when we were in a TV show called “The Big Bake” and were given five hours to make a five-foot tall cake that incorporated dynamic elements like moving parts and flashing lights.
It’s all about sculpting special cakes for those who want to put the “wow” factor into ‘big number’ birthdays or anniversaries, or make an impression at a corporate, sporting, or entertainment industry networking event. A cake sculpture might also serve as a highly personalised, singular alternative wedding cake for couples who dare to be different.
The Cake Sculpture Commission Process
We put as much thought and care into planning and designing our sculpted cakes, in collaboration with our customers, as we do into their creation.
When you commission a cake sculpture from The Cake Architect we know you’ll expect it to epitomise the height of luxury, and be fit for a King (or Queen). We want to fulfil all your expectations.
The process begins well in advance of the date you need the cake for, although on occasion we do have availability for orders with shorter lead times.
We’ll chat through your vision, share ideas and make some decisions about what the sculpture is to represent and how it will be poised, displayed and presented.
We’ll also help you choose the type and flavour of cake that you want inside the artistic exterior.
David will then follow up in a few days with a sketched design and quotation for your approval, which can be tweaked as necessary.
Full payment is then made to book in your cake. For larger orders a 50% booking fee will secure the order for the required date. You’ll be asked for the balance a month before delivery, and you can leave the rest to us.
Our sculpted cakes start at around £250 for smaller, simpler designs like cars, trains and handbags. The bigger and more complex the cake, the higher the budget. Realistic bust cakes, for example, start at approx. £800 and are sculpted to match the person of your choice, so you can eat your own head or your favourite pop star!
For budgets over the £1000 price point, you can expect a big cake with lots of detail and maybe some lights and moving parts too! If you’re really pushing the boat out then the sky is the limit – from a life-size horse to cakes suspended from the ceiling. If you can dream it, we can cake it!

Sculpted cakes come at a range of price points starting at just £100. As a general rule of thumb, the bigger, more complex or more detailed they are then the higher the cost.
