Second wedding fair in the bag! Another event hosted by The Wedding Emporium at the beautiful Stanton Manor in Chippenham. What an amazing wedding venue – it’s a stunning building, but without being austere; it retains all of the rustic charm you’d want from a quaint period manor. If you’re still searching for a venue, its well worth a visit. Sorry – back to selling cakes.
Despite somewhat feeling the pressure of living up to our impressive start, we were definitely more relaxed and in control this time around. We breezed through setting up, and enjoyed meeting all our new supplier friends again (looking rather eager at the prospect of more leftover tasters).
On the whole, it wasn’t quite as busy as Frome, but we still got plenty of good feedback, and had plenty of interesting conversations with brides and grooms to be. Today’s cake tasters were mojito, white choc and raspberry, and our ever popular banoffee.
Our range of cocktail cakes has a particularly captive audience. The prospect of alcohol in a cake has all the girls exchanging mischievous glances and elbowing each other. At wedding fairs, we have served Mojito flavour and Tequila Sunrise flavour samples, both of which have gone down an absolute storm. Due to their popularity, David has begun to expand his cocktail menu range! More on this coming soon …
It was great to see the uber-talented ‘From Sally With Love’ again, and chat to The Wedding Emporium girls about our shop plans. The guys from ‘Creatively Covered’ were thrilled to see our bannoffee cake again – to be fair it is pretty tasty. Our stand neighbours ‘Haley’s Hobbies’ and ‘Ryan Goold Photography’ were both lovely and talented people that we look forward to seeing again.
Aside from our Chippenham adventure, we also visited the Bath & West Showground wedding fair, although this was purely on personal wedding business, not as suppliers. It was fab, we got to play in all the fun photo booths and watch the beautiful fashion show of dresses – including one that lights up with fairy lights!! Wow!! Definitely one for The Cake Architect to attend next year, when we’ve made more of a name for ourselves.
It feels incredible that we are actually becoming known as a business now. People we don’t even know are recommending us, and orders keep popping up out of the blue. It’s surreal, but I think our business might actually be taking off!
