A Cake Journey – Part 3: Let’s get married!

Luxury Wedding Cake, The Cake Architect, Bradford-on-Avon

Congratulations! Today is the day that you  have been planning and working towards for months. We want to make sure that your wedding day is everything you hoped for and more.

We will have collaborated with you, your venue and your florist in advance of the big day so that we know where and when you want the cake to be set up. This means that we are able to get on with our job and you can focus on enjoying every aspect of your day in the knowledge that your cake will be waiting for you when you are ready.

On the morning of your wedding day, David will be up early to put any finishing touches to you cake before very carefully loading them into our van. Depending on the temperature on the day, the finish of your cake and the distance that we need to drive we may apply the final details to your cake at the venue itself. One of our favourite things about setting up on the big day is having the opportunity to see some beautiful wedding venues that have been so carefully and personally decorated, every wedding is unique. However, sometimes these beautiful venues are at the end of very long, old and stony driveways! On a hot day, a 4 tier cake lavished in buttercream and hand made sugar flowers is unlikely to appreciate a bumpy car journey.

If you have opted to have fresh flowers to decorate your cake, we will have been in touch with your florist to make sure we both know the plan.

At the venue we, cut, trim and arrange all of the flowers for your cake to adhere to food hygiene standards and to produce a stunning finish just as you want it.

Some couples choose to have additional cakes prepared in addition to their main wedding cake. These cakes can be cut to provide additional portions to cater for large numbers of people, dietary preferences or budgetary requirements, so nobody need go without. We will previously have arranged a suitable place to leave this, either with your venue, your caterers, or another representative of your party.

All that’s left is for you and your guests to tuck into a well-deserved slice of cake. We hope that you thoroughly enjoy your wedding day; we are delighted and honoured to be able to contribute to your celebration. After you’ve had some time to relax and enjoy the first chapter of your lives as newly weds we’d love for you to send us any photos you might have of either you, the cake or both from the big day! We love to hear how everything went and hope that you enjoyed your cake as much as we enjoyed making it for you.
